The White Marlin Open is held every first full week of August and it brings hundreds of sportfishing boats to Ocean City for the largest billfish tournament in the world. This private boat tour with Sea Rocket puts your group out on the water while it is happening, with a front row look from the bay.
Your hour on the water covers the calm back bays of Ocean City, Sunset Marina, the Commercial Harbor, and even takes you past Assateague Island. Sunset Marina is one of the largest marinas on the East Coast and where many of the tournament boats dock, so you will cruise past dozens of stunning mega-yachts, high-end sportfishing boats, and tournament vessels, close enough for great photos. Your captain shares fun commentary on the tournament, the boats, and Ocean City history, points out celebrity-owned yachts like Michael Jordan’s when it is docked, and keeps an eye out for the dolphins, ponies, and seabirds that are regular sights out here.
Every cruise is built around the group on board. Bring your own beverages (BYOB, no glass permitted), play your music, and enjoy a relaxed, private hour with your group. All ages are welcome, so it works just as well for fishing fans as it does for families, birthdays, or anyone who wants a completely different view of this iconic Ocean City event.

The White Marlin Open is held the first full week of August every year in Ocean City, Maryland. The 2026 tournament runs August 3 through 8. Our private tours run daily during tournament week and book up quickly, so plan ahead!

- We depart from the Aloft Hotel at 4501 Coastal Hwy in Ocean City, MD. Park in the Aloft lot and look for our flags and signs on the beach behind the hotel!
- Please arrive at least 25 minutes before departure to check in at our booth. Every guest needs a signed waiver before boarding.
- Our boats leave on schedule, so give yourself extra time.
- Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, a towel, and cash if you would like to tip your amazing captain.
- Alcohol is welcome for guests 21 and over. No glass permitted.
- Safety comes first. If weather or boat maintenance affects your departure, we may move your reservation to a different time slot and our team will reach out to you directly.
