PARASAILING THROUGH HISTORY: THE EVOLUTION OF AN ADVENTUROUS SPORT

After the war, excess military equipment found its way into the hands of daring civilians, creating interest in parasailing as a recreational pastime.

The 1970s were the early formation of the commercialized version of parasailing that we know today. Mark McCulloh and Pierre Lamoigne, among others, improved and popularized the sport. By the 1990’s, parasailing was taking the world by storm. But as parasailing got more popular, safety became more of a top priority.
